Your new Yorkshire Terrier puppy and other pets:
This can
sometimes be a frightening experience for the puppy but you must remember that more often than not, they'll probably become best of friends.
It's a good idea to let this
meeting take place when you are holding your new Yorkie puppy. Just let
them sniff each other a little, without overwhelming the puppy. You will want to do this a number of
times so they can get used to each other's scent.
You will want
to reassure the older pet that he's not being replaced and making sure you do not neglect him either. You
then will want to place them together while supervising their interaction. The older one may growl at the yorkie puppy when he's not in
the mood to play, this is normal and is also how they communicate.
Your new yorkie puppy will quickly learn when not to bother the other dog. This can be intimidating because a little Yorkie puppy
can easily make it seem like he has gotten badly hurt as it may
cry out loud. Just remember you will need to supervise
them until they are better acquainted.
